What makes us different

  • Client Focused

Our primary relationship is with the person who is dying and/or those important to them. We are not employed by a service and are not bound to an inflexible role description. We are accountable to the people we support, and our agreements are directly with them.

  • Meeting you where you are

We work from outside the healthcare service in a complementary way. This gives us space to be flexible, truly community-based, and not restricted by clinical policies or frameworks designed for clinical care. We can meet people where they are, in every sense

  • Free to advocate

Both of these things mean we can advocate freely. Because we're independent, we can support people to speak up for what matters to them, or speak up on their behalf, without navigating internal hierarchies or service pressures

It doesn’t mean we don’t have boundaries. Our team members received certified training from Living Well, Dying Well and are members of End of Life Doula UK. We work within a clear and defined role. This is supported by End of Life Doula UK’s code of practice and policies, written specifically to support self-employed doulas. We strive to work with care, clarity and professionalism.
